As a mum to two teenagers, I’ve learned just how quickly time moves — and how meaningful these photos become as the years pass. Whether you’re waiting to meet your baby or finding your rhythm in motherhood, this is a season worth holding onto. My sessions are about slowing things down, creating space to breathe, and capturing the quiet magic of life as it is right now.

From soulful maternity, family sessions outdoors to gentle newborn sessions in my cosy Essex studio, I’d love to capture these moments for you and the people you love most.

Maternity sessions are about slowing down and soaking in this season. Whether we’re outside in the wild or creating something cosy in the studio, these sessions are intimate, dreamy, and effortlessly you. No stiff posing — just honest moments that capture how this time feels.
Newborn sessions are all about the tiny details — the squish, the stretches, the quiet moments of connection. We focus on your baby just as they are, wrapped in love, with gentle, timeless images that celebrate your newborn and the beautiful bond of your growing family.
Family sessions are best taken on location, where little legs can run free and curiosity leads the way. These sessions are relaxed and playful, capturing your family as you truly are — connected, joyful, and perfectly imperfect in the in-between moments.
Milestone and birthday sessions take place in the studio, where your child’s personality can truly shine. From curious expressions at 6 months to big giggles for the older babes, these sessions are designed to capture who they are right now — because these years fly by faster than we ever expect.

01/ THE STUDIO

My photography studio is a sanctuary tucked away in my home, nestled in the village of Little Wakering, just on the outskirts of Southend-on-Sea, Essex. It’s a space I’ve curated to feel less like a clinical studio and more like a warm extension of your own living room—filled with soft, natural light, earthy tones, and neutral linens that create a timeless, cosy aesthetic for your images.

I want you to feel entirely at ease from the moment you arrive. This is a calming space where a selection of drinks and snacks are waiting for you. There’s no need to over-pack; just bring yourselves and the essentials, and let me take care of the rest.

I know that for new parents, the thought of a newborn session can sometimes feel a little frantic, especially with little ones in tow. Please know that siblings are truly welcome here. They can let off some steam in the garden (don’t forget to help them spot the horses!) or relax in the lounge while I focus on those delicate newborn details. There is no rush and no pressure—just a gentle, patient environment where we let your family’s story unfold naturally.

02/ The Experience

I sometimes wish I could bottle up the feeling I want you to have the moment you walk through my doors at Millie and Beau Photography. It’s that sigh of relief, the warmth of a shared smile, and the quiet realisation that for the next hour, the world slows down just for you.

I put my heart and soul into ensuring your newborn or family photography session is an experience you actually enjoy, rather than just a tick off the list. From our very first chat, I’m right by your side—helping you select a dreamy location that fits your family's personality or offering styling advice to ensure everyone feels confident and cohesive.

When you arrive, whether it’s for a natural newborn session or a sunset run through the fields, there is zero pressure to be "perfect." I don’t do stiff poses or forced smiles. Instead, I’ll give you gentle prompts that naturally guide you. These moments allow for those genuine, unscripted moments to surface.

My goal is to capture incredible pictures rooted in your true connection. I want to give you a lifetime of memories to relive time and time again—images that don't just show what you looked like, but exactly how it felt to be "you" in this beautiful season of life.

Both shoots were absolutely brilliant, we never felt rushed or awkward and Emily is so lovely it made our experience even better! Working with Emily was like a dream come true. I'd contacted her about a maternity shoot and she was quick to respond. Emily was so helpful choosing locations, she went to the extra effort of going to several locations and taking photos of them so I could make the right choice. She also has a lovely client wardrobe which she was kind enough to bring along. Emily had wonderful vision for the shoot and was committed to being there in the early hours of the morning so we could get the best lighting. We also included my daughter in some photos and Emily made her feel welcome and was very patient with her! The quality of the photos is incredible. She made me feel beautiful and the photos are something I will treasure forever. I'll definitely be booking in another shoot with her and I would definitely recommend her to anyone after stunning photos and a genuinely lovely photographer.
